Knowing how hard she works, I can't imagine how she could possibly be retiring.

I was fortunate to have her as a friend as a result of living in the home over her garage for many years.

It was a wonderful place to live. My mother and her mother became the best of friends, and Vanessa and I enjoyed “pretending” to swim in the small “pool” they had in their backyard. We also shared a love of all animals and enjoyed watching the cats eat with the raccoons in the backyard. I have particularly fond memories of her cat “Saki” visiting my mother and me quite often.

I have always admired her spirit, dedication, passion, and hard work.

One of my fun memories is me attempting to teach Vanessa to drive on Pinecrest Parkway. It was quite interesting.

Although we have taken very different paths in life, I think of her often and I regret that we always seem to be too busy to attempt to get together. Perhaps that might change following her retirement.
