Dear Professor Merton,

I don't know where to begin. There is so much to say. You have given so much to each student, each client, and everything and every one in between. There are so many memorable moments of your impact on me and my development as a lawyer. Some of them make me laugh, others inspire the work that I do, and some are cherished memories or experiences I'll never forget. From representing migrant women and children in detention to late night conversations full of cursing in the clinic about the state of the world, it is safe to say I've never had a professor more special in my life. Your humble devotion to vulnerable populations throughout your career is something I will always aspire to emulate in my own career. I could write a book of the things I could say about you and your impact but only one thing is the most important for me to say. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and with every molecule in my body!
