There is not enough space or words that could adequately capture how much I love and respect Prof. Merton. The more I sit with this message, the more memories flood my mind - too personal to share with others. But I don't want to miss the chance to contribute to her Festschrift.

Prof. Merton, you have left an indelible impression on my life. I appreciate you not just as a professor and an attorney, but as a woman who has aged so beautifully. You have always exuded class and dignity in the way you carried yourself and the way you crafted your e-mails and letters without any typos!

As you reflect on the accomplishments and challenges of your life, I hope that you find peace and comfort knowing that you have touched so many hearts.
