It is an honor to be part of those commemorating your years of unwavering commitment as head of the Immigration Clinic and the legacy of dedication, work ethic and excellent service you leave behind.

You were the beating heart of the Immigration Clinic. What will they ever do without you? Your dedication knew no bounds. Morning, noon and night, you were always there. Who will fill your shoes with your zeal for inspiring and mentoring your students and volunteers? On the flip side, new students will no longer have to be warned before their first drive opportunity with you to immigration court, so will miss out on the experience of your, shall we say, rather liberal take on driving laws. For my part, it was never an issue since we were always deep in conversation, which allowed me to be blissfully unaware of any near-misses or having to go for the grab handles.

I stand in awe of how you put your heart and soul into your work all these years. You didn't only make a significant difference, but also touched many lives along the way. You set the standard for loyalty, kindness, character, determination, and you showed us all how it’s done. And we’re all the better for it. Because of you, we aim higher, perform better and became the best version of ourselves. I consider myself fortunate to have had you as a mentor and even more fortunate to call you a friend. You have challenged me and helped me to grow professionally. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you for all these years. Thank you for showing me the ropes. Thank you for all the encouragement and support. You’ve been a true inspiration.

Cheers to some well-deserved rest. You have earned the right to stay in pajamas all day if you so choose. I hope this next stage of your life brings you all the peace and happiness you deserve. May you always have a smile on your face.
