When it is said, “May the force be with you,” I think of saying, “May you be safe and well.” It’s a powerful statement that we would all hope would be. However, when I think of this in terms of you, Vanessa, I think back to all the times we had together working on the various issues that had come up in Hastings. I think of you, Vanessa, as The Force - The force that was and is made up of strong moral fiber that helped shaped Hastings into the wonderful place that it is today.

Ever present, Vanessa, you are a formidable role model for all of us. One that says, “Just don’t sit there. Get up and fight for what you know to be right.” To this end, I thank you, Vanessa, for being the wonderful person that you are and for encouraging me as well as others to get out there and help to make the changes necessary to make this world a better place.

Vanessa, you have made a positive difference in this world, never to be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. Thank you for being you!
